Habibur Masum, Bangladeshi migrant, murdered Kulsuma Akter by stabbing her repeatedly in public. He tracked her phone location to women's refuge in Bradford. Masum loitered for days watching the refuge on CCTV. He sent threats to kill her family unless she returned. Masum faked GP messages and Spain trip to lure her out. He confronted her in city centre while she pushed their baby pram. Masum kicked her body as final insult then cut her throat. Smiling killer walked away grinning and took bus believing he escaped. Masum travelled 200 miles to hide and sought hospital treatment for fake lockjaw. He claimed amnesia and self-harm intent but jurors rejected it. Relationship marked by jealousy, possessiveness, and controlling abuse. Masum held knife to her throat after assaulting her over male colleague message. He threatened ''I am going to murder you'' days before. Akter fled to refuge after police involvement. Masum denied incidents claiming she fabricated abuse for UK stay.
