Alison Botha was kidnapped from her car by Frans Du Toit. Du Toit picked up accomplice Theuns Krugeras. Both raped her in a wooded area. Krugeras accidentally revealed Du Toit's real name. Attackers slit her throat 16 times nearly decapitating her. They stabbed her abdomen over 50 times exposing intestines. One attacker targeted her reproductive organs for mutilation. Alison held her intestines in with a shirt while crawling to road. She wrote attackers' names in sand while playing dead. Vet Tiaan Eilerd found her and repositioned her protruding thyroid. Attackers were out on bail for prior rapes. Both identified as Satanists. Du Toit had raped another woman but spared her life. They pled guilty to kidnapping, rape, and attempted murder. Received life sentences without parole in 1995. Granted parole after 28 years in 2023 without notifying victim. Alison advocated against their release. She became mother to two sons despite injuries.
