Anatolia hosts world's first settlement at Çatalhöyük and first temple at Göbeklitepe. Balıklıgöl Statue carved from limestone around 9500 BC. Statue stands 1.80 meters tall. Eyes hollowed with black obsidian pieces. Features human face, ears, nose but no mouth. V-shaped necklace points to abdomen. Hands clasped in front. No feet – base is solid block embedded in ground. Humans made life-sized art before settling from nomadic life. Oldest statue in Asia. First life-sized human statue globally. Predates writing by 6,000 years. Viewable at Şanlıurfa Museum.
