ISIS claimed the attacks as retaliation for French airstrikes. Attackers killed 130 and injured 416, mostly at Bataclan theatre. French response included state of emergency, mass raids, and escalated airstrikes on ISIS. Trial convicted 20 including Abdeslam to life without parole. Many attackers known terrorism suspects but crossed borders freely. Some perpetrators lived in Brussels Molenbeek jihadist hub.
