Rosali Fernandez-Cruz, illegal from El Salvador, struck and killed 21-year-old Nathaniel Baker on motorcycle then fled. Fernandez-Cruz pleaded guilty to hit-and-run resulting in death. Judge sentenced him to one year prison with no plea deal. He enters prison August 14, 2025 and releases March 2, 2026. ICE has detainer to deport him post-sentence. Fernandez-Cruz caught by Border Patrol in Texas December 2016. Immigration judge ordered his deportation September 2018. Victim's family forgave killer and agreed to light sentence.
