Mold Cape discovered in 1833 in Welsh burial mound named Fairies’ Hill. Crafted from single gold ingot beaten to thin sheet with repoussé concentric rings mimicking folded cloth. Designed to cover shoulders, upper arms, chest of slim woman or child. Found with woven textile, gold straps, bronze sheets, urn of burnt bone, second cape fragments, bronze knife, hundreds of amber beads. Unique form with no European parallels complicates its purpose. Perforations around neck and base for attachment. Three decoration zones: base band, curving shoulder panel, upper arm panels. Bronze strips likely strengthened it. Skeleton lost so gender unconfirmed. Repaired after damage with 15% metal replaced. British Museum acquired it due to significance. Replica in Mold Library heritage center.
