Laser communications will prove useful when the enemy interferes with, overhears or detects radio signals. Through a beam of light, it is possible to transmit information that the enemy will not intercept or interfere with, explains optoelectronicist Col. Jacek Wojtanowski of the Military University of Technology in PAP Studio.
