Laser atom traps will be useful in researching new materials
Go to the source page
Using lasers, it is possible to muse on gas atoms and make them behave like a crystal or metal, for example. And in this way it is easy to simulate yet unknown materials and study their properties, e.g. look for superconductors. This is discussed by physicist Dr. Mateusz Lacki from the Jagiellonian University, who showed how such experiments can be improved.
