A new type of hydrogels based on natural polymers, which are derived from starch, among other things - have been developed by researchers at the Lukasiewicz-Institute of Industrial Chemistry. What's more, they have the ability to self-repair their structure in just a few hours after damage, which opens the door to medical applications.
