Less puzzling origins of "dust giants"

Thousands of huge galaxies, rich in stars and dust, were already formed in the young Universe. For astronomers, their study was a real challenge. Scientists from the NCBJ, among others, studying 300 distant dusty galaxies detected with the ALMA instrument have shed new light on the physical processes involved in the production of dust, metals and stars in the evolution of galaxies.
