BOREXINO experiment sheds new light on how the sun produces energy
Go to the source page

The Sun produces energy by converting hydrogen into helium mainly in the so-called PP (proton-proton) cycle, but also in the CNO (carbon-nitrogen-oxygen) cycle - very important especially in larger stars. In the BOREXINO experiment - with Polish participation - solar neutrinos from the CNO cycle were recorded for the first time.
