Researchers from the UW Department of Physics, led by Dr. Michal Tomza and the experimental group of Prof. Tobias Schaetz of the University of Freiburg, were the first to observe Feshbach resonances between a single ion and ultracold atoms. An article summarizing the results of their research appeared in Nature. The publication was further highlighted on the cover of the journal.
