The imaginary part of quantum mechanics really exists

It has usually been assumed that composite numbers, that is, numbers containing an imaginary number component and (i squared gives minus one) are purely a mathematical trick. However, a Polish-Chinese-Canadian team of researchers has proven that the imaginary part of quantum mechanics can be observed in action in the real world, reports the UW's Center for New Technologies.
