Geometric objects such as fractals used to be called "mathematical monsters" or "outcasts." Today, knowledge of them allows the development of telecommunications, data transmission security or entertainment - when it is used by creators of cinematic special effects, says Professor Andrzej Katunin of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice in an interview with PAP.
