Scientists described spontaneous dance-walking of passersby

Crowds of people heading in different directions meet at pedestrian crossings, stations, or stadiums. These people - like particles of matter in colloids or substances in some cells - spontaneously form lanes. Researchers from Poland and the UK have just described in Science the mathematical rules of this unusual dance.
