This year's Nobel Prize in Chemistry went to Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson and Omar M. Yaghi - "for the development of organometallic frameworks." It's all about the new molecular architecture of materials containing vacancies. They can be used in the removal of toxic gases or energy storage, among other applications.
