Anthropology is the study of people, both modern and past. In America, the curriculum is divided into archaeology, linguistics, culture and genetics. There are various theories about the origin of mankind, including the Out of Africa theory and the aquatic ape theory. Professor Owen Lovejoy of Kent State University argues that humans did not descend from apes, but apes evolved from humans.
