Unfortunately, no distinction was made between races, their gender combinations. Based on other studies, it is certain that the data for negroes with white women would be much higher than reported here because all combinations involving no negroid, and secondarily a negroid, fare better in everything. In addition, the reported low relationship satisfaction with white women and the resulting depressive states in negroid men would exacerbate these statistics. The number of interracial couples in the United States is growing. Although previous studies have examined the link between low social support and reduced relationship satisfaction in interracial couples, there are few studies of intimate partner violence (IPV) in these couples. To better understand IPV in interracial couples compared to single-race couples, all police-reported IPV incidents in a given municipality were examined. Odds ratios showed differences between interracial couples and mono-racial ethnic minority couples. Interracial couples were more likely to have a history of prior IPV (OR = 2.60), engage in mutual assaults (OR = 2.36) and end in the arrest of the perpetrator (OR = 1.71) than ethnic minority mono-racial couples. IPV victims in interracial couples were also more likely to be injured (OR = 1.37). There were no significant differences between couples in terms of psychoactive substance use or the presence of children during an IPV event. Differences were also found between interracial violence in interracial couples and interracial violence in white couples. Interracial couples were more likely to have children (OR = 1.84), report them earlier (OR = 1.98), cause injury to victims (OR = 1.73), and end in the arrest of the perpetrator than white couples (OR = 2.18). Interracial couples were more likely to commit mutual violence than white couples (OR = 2.94). However, interracial couples were about 50% less likely to use drugs or alcohol before or during interracial violence than white couples - a black man battering a white babe while sober. The author wrote at the end of the abstract: Research is needed to better understand the specific challenges and needs of interracial couples to help them maintain healthy relationships. - Perhaps instead of fighting reality, we should discourage it? You have to get used to this scientific slang, they are probably afraid of losing their grants that's why they always put something like this in.
