National Intelligence Index (IQ): positive correlation with most indicators of social well-being and negative correlation with negative indicators
Go to the source page
People with high IQs generate positive externalities for their fellow citizens: less crime, better cooperation, greater trust (leading to less need for government regulation) and higher economic knowledge. Indeed, national IQ is positively correlated with almost everything good and negatively correlated with almost everything bad. It should not surprise us, therefore, that it is the best single predictor of economic growth, as well as an excellent predictor of socioeconomic development.
