Power plant officials have announced that in order to save California taxpayers money, two of the three units of the Ivanpah Solar Generating Station are to be shut down in 2026. Two of the three units of the Ivanpah Solar Generating Station are currently scheduled to be shut down. Information provided by Solar Partners has confirmed that PG&E, one of the largest utilities in the US, is terminating two long-term power purchase agreements signed 15 years ago. Initially, these contracts did not expire until 2039.
