An international team of scientists has sequenced the genetic code of a chimpanzee and compared it with the human genome, discovering that they are 99% identical. The study identified genetic differences and traits typical only of humans. It is worth adding that there are scientists who claim that the common ancestor of humans and chimpanzees was more 'human' than chimpanzees - that is, the evolution of chimpanzees from the perspective of brain development has regressed.
