Genetic contamination in southern Europe: the impact of migration from Africa on public health
Go to the source page
Genetic studies have shown that gene tainting in southern Europe is higher than in other regions of the continent. This is due to migration after the last glaciation, the diffusion of agriculture from the Middle East and the influx of genes from North Africa. It was discovered that the sharing of genetic heritage between Europe and Africa increases when the influx of genes from North Africa is taken into account. This finding has important biomedical implications.
