DNA and RNA components have been found in samples from the asteroid Bennu, suggesting the presence of the basic chemical building blocks of life. The OSIRIS-REx probe delivered material collected from Bennu to Earth, which indicates an aqueous world with saline water that promotes the interaction of organic compounds.
