Criminals with German citizenship accounted for about 30-35% of suspects in 2024. Persons of Syrian origin accounted for about 8-10%, followed by citizens of Turkey (about 5-7%) and Afghanistan (about 4%). Other significant groups included suspects from Romania, Bulgaria and Iraq. The remaining suspects were scattered among many other nationalities.
