Researchers from the Institute of Archeology at the Jagiellonian University have discovered the oldest evidence of mining and smelting of a metal on Polish soil - lead from Olkusz deposits. The discovery changes the previous knowledge about the exploitation of raw materials in Poland. They plan to continue their research to reconstruct the distribution patterns of metallurgical raw materials.
